Been reading the book and listening to the music again, so I thought I'd do some Wicked fanart. It's in scraps because uhhh, I'm not sure that I like it. And if I'm not sure NOW, I doubt I will be more sure later. So into the scrap pile it goes~
It didn't really turn out like I wanted it to, but.. eh. I kept the colors flat because I wanted it to be simple, but Glinda's line work is too complex-- especially when compared to Elphaba's-- for that kind of look so it ruins it, I think. ._.
I really should use references next time too; Glinda looks reminiscent of Princess Toadstool. XD;
o: I like how the composition came out, lol though I think I see what you mean about the line work and stuff. XD; the simplicity of elphaba's lines looks really neat though. o: I like it. dur
Thank you. :3 I was gonna try to do this in tegaki but I KNEW I would screw it up even more so.. XD It's probably good I didn't.

Yeah, I'm not sure what I was thinking when I did these lines.. XD; I guess I just have a hard time restraining myself? People are creatures of habit as they say.
But thank you.

I ran into a similar situation with my Elphaba/Glinda [link]
Elphaba came out much more striking and intense, while I'm not as happy with Glinda. I think the problem is the radical dissimilarity between the two.
Your image still works...don't be down on it. There's a scene late in the book (not in the musical) where Elphaba and Glinda part company for good...this captures the mutual sadness quite nicely.
